Charter School Program
Where Thoughtful Horsemanship Becomes Meaningful Education
Our Equine Education Program offers a refined, hands-on learning experience that blends horsemanship, physical education, and applied equine science.
Designed for students enrolled in charter and homeschool programs, this offering goes beyond traditional riding lessons to develop confident, capable, and knowledgeable horsemen through structured, real-world education.
⸻
Program Experience
Each session is thoughtfully designed to integrate practical horsemanship with educational learning. Students gain a deeper understanding of horses while developing responsibility, awareness, and communication skills.
Instruction includes:
• Horse care, grooming, and management
• Groundwork and foundational handling skills
• Riding instruction appropriate to level
• Equine behavior and communication
• Conformation, terminology, and breed knowledge
• Safety awareness and situational understanding
Students are not only taught how to ride, but how to think, observe, and interact with horses with clarity and intention.
⸻

⸻
Individualized Instruction
Each student’s experience is intentionally tailored to their:
• Age and developmental stage
• Experience level and riding ability
• Confidence and comfort with horses
• Personal learning pace and goals
While the program follows a structured framework, instruction remains adaptable to ensure meaningful progress and a positive, confidence-building experience.
⸻
A Thoughtful Approach to Horsemanship
We place equal value on student development and horse welfare.
Our program is intentionally designed to balance mounted work with groundwork and education, allowing students to build a strong foundation while maintaining the long-term soundness, responsiveness, and wellbeing of our horses.
Horse selection and lesson structure are carefully managed to create a safe, effective, and sustainable learning environment.

⸻
First Lesson Experience
We understand that starting something new—especially around horses—can feel both exciting and a little overwhelming. Our goal is to create a calm, supportive, and positive first experience for every student.
During the first lesson, we focus on:
• Safe introduction to the horse environment
• Basic horse behavior and awareness
• Grooming and hands-on interaction
• Foundational groundwork skills
• Introductory riding (when appropriate)
Lessons are tailored to each student’s comfort level. Some students may spend more time on the ground building confidence before riding, while others may be ready to ride earlier in the session.
Our priority is that each student feels safe, supported, and successful in their first experience.
Helmets are required for all riders under 18. Students are encouraged to bring their own properly fitting helmet, though we do have helmets available to borrow if needed.
⸻
Limited Availability
To maintain a high standard of instruction and protect the wellbeing of our horses, lesson availability is intentionally limited.
Each student is placed thoughtfully based on age, experience, and horse suitability to ensure a safe, effective, and personalized learning environment.
As a result, openings are limited and may not always be immediately available. We recommend reaching out early to inquire about current availability and placement.
⸻
What Families Are Saying
Families often notice a meaningful shift in their student’s confidence, focus, and sense of responsibility. Through consistent, hands-on experience, students not only learn how to work with horses, but develop awareness, communication skills, and a deeper understanding that carries into other areas of life.
